On February 2–5, Martina Kolb, Coordinator of the PROGRESS and EU4ClimateResilience projects implemented by GIZ, and Project Advisor Franziska Schneider were in Armenia on a business trip.
The visit agenda was quite intensive. It began with a working meeting with the project team, followed by discussions with the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) focused on the 2026 action plan and prospects for effective cooperation.
On February 4, a field visit was organised to the “Center for Agricultural Research and Certification” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Economy, to observe the improved efficiency in work organisation resulting from the material and capacity-building achievements acquired within the framework of the project. On the same day, a study visit took place at the modern orchard of “Margets” LLC and the “Mixella” dried fruit production company, both beneficiaries of the PROGRESS project.
On February 5, a visit was organised to the city of Stepanavan to the “Amarot” company, selected by REC Caucasus for the presentation of demonstration projects and plans aimed at reducing plastic use in its production process.
At the conclusion of the visit, a discussion on the “Climate Bridge” demonstration project was held at Tashir municipality, with the participation of the Head of the Community and the Foundation to Save Energy that is implementing the project.
