Ukraine Showcases Progress on Green Deal Readiness at Second PROGRESS Coordination Roundtable in Kyiv

On January 30, 2025, the Institute for Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine hosted the second roundtable of the PROGRESS project’s Local Partners Coordination Group. PROGRESS (Promoting Green Deal Readiness in the Eastern Partnership Countries) launched in Ukraine in 2024 and focuses on supporting climate-oriented reforms, adapting agriculture to climate change, and strengthening green finance. This year's event was devoted to the discussion of the first results of the said project as a result of 2024. The event gathered representatives from government ministries, banks, academia, NGOs, and international partners such as GIZ and OECD. Speakers highlighted Ukraine’s faster progress compared to other Eastern Partnership countries, emphasizing the role of scientific expertise in shaping policy, education, and cooperation with the EU. Key discussions addressed climate risks, green financing tools, and best practices in horticulture. In 2025, project efforts will expand towards education, international cooperation, and scaling sustainable practices to boost resilience and food security.

The event was moderated by the head of the experts of the IEPr NASU in the PROGRESS project, Ph.D. (Technical) Oleksandr Diachuk.
